Mr Ashok Bakthavathsalam is currently the Managing Director, K.G. Information Systems Private Limited, Coimbatore, Director, Coimbatore Hi-tech Infrastructure Private Limited, Coimbatore, Managing Trustee, KGISL Trust, Coimbatore and CEO, K.G. Hospital & Post Graduate Medical Institute, Coimbatore

As the Founder & Director of KG Information Systems Private Limited, he has been responsible for KGISL's growth by playing a key role in both leadership and management of the company. KGISL literally pioneered the growth of the IT Services and BPO services in Coimbatore since 1996.

He was instrumental is establishing three academic institutions

• KGISL-Institute of Information Management (KGISL-IIM), an industry sponsored post graduate institute offering the 3-year MCA program
• KG College of Arts and Science
• KGISL Institute of Technology, an engineering college with a strong focus on Research

In addition to this at the K.G. Hospital he has Set up state-of-the-art software system in the Hospital, Ensured the attainment of management objectives through effective leadership and management/administration of the Hospital and been Instrumental in conducting over 95,000 free IOL surgeries to the poorer sections of the society

In addition he serves as a Member of Task Force on Information Technology, Government of India, Member of Task Force on Information Technology, Government of Tamil Nadu.

He has been an active member of CII Coimbatore Zonal Council. He is also the Convenor of the Information, Communication & Technology Panel of CII Coimbatore Zone since 2008. He has been the brain behind CII’s flagship IT Conference Connect Coimbatore 2009 & 2010.
