JB as he is fondly known by his friends in the industry, did his schooling at The Lawrence School, Lovedale; his Pre University - Gobi Arts College, Gobichettipalayam (University of Madras) 1978 and B.E.(ECE) - Regional Engineering College, Trichy (University of Madras) 1983; and Management Programme for Entrepreneurial Firms - Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

His present business positions include Managing Director, Nextgen Communications Ltd., New Delhi; Director, Unity Electro Systems Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore; Director, Ideafarms, New Delhi; Director, Spitfire Motorsports Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore; Director, Spitfire Automotive Performance Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore. Other positions he has held are like Vice President, Governing Council, Gobi Arts & Science College, Gobichettipalayam (autonomous), run on non profit basis with about 3000 students; Trustee, CKK Educational Trust, Gobichettipalayam - running 2 schools on charitable basis with a combined strength of about 3000 students; President, Old Lawrencian Association (Alumni Association of The Lawrence School, Lovedale). He is the present Vice Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Coimbatore Zone.
