Prashant R Nair, Member - ICT Panel, CII Coimbatore Zone & Vice Chairman - IT, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

Mr Nair has over ten years of teaching, training, consultancy, research and academic administration experience in the Information Technology department at Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore. He is a rank holder from the third batch of Amrita School of Business. He has taught in academic programmes in USA and Europe at University of California, San Diego (2003) and Sofia University, Bulgaria (2009 - as an Erasmus Mundus fellow).

He has about 15 publications in leading journals and conferences like "CSI Communications", "Indian Management", "University News", "D-Lib", "National Convention of Computer Engineers", "Asia Pacific Telecom" to his credit and has contributed a book chapter to an international edited book on "Enterprise Information Systems" published by IGI Global, USA.

Since 2003, has been on the Executive Council of the Coimbatore centre of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), one of the largest professional bodies in India with 70,000 members all over in India. Since 2006, has been functioning as the Honorary Secretary for the IETE Tamil Nadu region and has since expanded IETE by setting up two sub-centres and 60 student chapters. Is one of the youngest in India to be elected to such a position. Since 2007, has served Coimbatore Chapter of Computer Society of India (CSI) as Student Coordinator and Joint Secretary. Has been elected as Secretary for the period 2010-2012. He has performed consultancy assignments for Zenasis, California and Axxonet Solutions, India. He has also participated in Induction Training programmes for Infosys and Wipro.
