 Dr.Santhosh Babu, IAS belongs to the 1995 batch of Indian Administrative Service, Tamil Nadu Cadre, Currently Managing Director, ELCOT, and Director e-Governance.
He has undergone the British Chevening Gurukul Scholarship in ‘Leadership & Excellence Programme 2004’ of the British Council at the London School of Economics & Political Science. He has been the recipient of many awards and recognitions, notably the Dataquest E-Governance Champion Award, South India 2006 and the Best Collector Award of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu for Child Labour eradication, 2007-08 (Web based tracking and monitoring system for all Out of School Children www.back2school.in
He is known for having Created the first paperless Government office in Tamil Nadu at the Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women Ltd, Chennai in Nov 2001, while serving as the Executive Director and 100% computerized the Chief Minister’s Special Cell while serving as the Special Officer, Chief Minister’s Special Cell, Secretariat.
